Follow The Dopamine

In ‘Follow the dopamine’, the performance collective Merle | Mischke | Klee examines characteristics typical of ADHD, such as enthusiasm, creativity and empathy, and reflects on how different concentration, impulsivity and emotional vulnerability can feel. No two brains are the same, although this is not outwardly recognisable. So how do you learn not to make assumptions about others?
On the level of sound, I have tried to give the different facets of ADHD a soundscape. Tracks inspired by high-energy and UK donk at 160 BPM alternate with emotional tracks that spiral deep into the state of ‘deep focus’. Playful tracks mix with soundscapes that are simply overwhelming.
ADHD and neurodivergence have an incredible number of different, beautiful and threatening sides. They overwhelm and inspire, are ‘too much’ and then again ‘too little’, in constant friction with a society that strives to standardise everything. Welcome on the Spectrum, Stay Beautiful, Stay Weird <3
